Last week my daughter had some appointments that didn’t go so well and her Dietitian has put her on a high fat, high protein, high calorie diet (again). I don’t really know why they bother saying she needs to eat more of this or more of that as generally it appears she just needs to eat more of everything. Except lettuce.
They want her to eat three meals, three snacks and two puddings a day. On top of this she must also drink a calorific protein smoothie.
They’ve prescribed Fortini drinks, which we haven’t had a lot of success with previously, but this time I’m hoping to disguise them in the smoothies we make at home with our Nutribullet but God knows she has some kind of superpower when it comes to detecting these things.
We’ve been recommended to add powdered milk to lots of things (milkshakes, mashed potato, coating breaded chicken etc.) as well as adding more oil, butter, double cream etc wherever possible to up the calories. Any other suggestions welcome! Daughter is a fussy eater. Must be gluten free.
